WHAT YOU’LL NEED

To embark on this creative journey, you’ll need a few essential tools:

CHOOSING THE RIGHT CONTENT

The key to a successful projection is the content you choose. You can’t go wrong with abstract bright colors and dynamic patterns. Kaleidoscope style patterns, particle simulations, and liquid animations like lava lamps are a great place to start. . While black can be used intentionally, it’s best reserved for dramatic effects like strobe lighting. Animating logos, quotes, and icons is a great way to blend an event’s brand or message with the guest experience. Timelapses of skies, landscapes, , cityscapes, architecture, and wildlife are some excellent sources to consider. Visit any stock video site like Storyblocks.com or Artlist to get the ideas flowing.

CREATING DYNAMIC EFFECTS

In Photo Booth Upload, you can manipulate your projection video to achieve dynamic effects. Here are some techniques:

  • Slow Motion: Adds an element of drama and elegance to your visuals.
    • Pro move: You can also ramp from normal, slower, and faster frame rates to create a bullet time effect
  • Pan, Tilt, and Zoom Features: Create a dynamic, music-video-like experience by adjusting the camera’s angle and focus.
  • Experiment with Slow Motion: For added drama and uniqueness.
  • Filters: Enhance your visuals with filters that make colors pop and boosts your video’s contrast as a finishing touch.

WOW YOUR GUESTS

The beauty of projection in photo booths is that it seamlessly blends with your event’s decor, adding an extra layer of magic. Whether it’s a branded backdrop or an event-specific theme, projection can enhance the aesthetics and leave a lasting impression on your guests. The larger-than-life display acts like a magnet, drawing participants in and ensuring a quick throughput, making it suitable for events where green screens might not be the best fit.

ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR SUCCESS

  • Adjust Image Quality: Use native features to fine-tune your video’s vibrancy, brightness, and contrast.
  • Add Audio and Intros/Outros: Elevate the experience with engaging soundtracks and branded intros/outros.
  • Minimize your footprint  setup. Use an HDMI to connect to your photo booth computer to the projector and extend the display to play your video content on the same device as your photo booth software.
  • Align the projector above the camera lens to avoid shadows from the guest. If you’re using the Infinite or Venture, you can detach the adjustable projector mount on your stand and connect it to the top of your booth using the baby pin adapter that comes with your photo booth.
  • Add hair lights on either side of your backdrop to illuminate the edge of your guest and pop them out from the background.

Integrating projection into your photo booth setup can take your event to the next level. It’s an opportunity to captivate your audience, showcase your creativity, and create unforgettable memories. So, what are you waiting for? Dive into the world of projection and unlock the magic at your next event.
